At Lone Star Black Belt Academy, with our new class schedule, we are offering a variety of flexible scheduling options. It’s important to understand the structure of our class schedule, so that you can maximize the value of your Masters Club training program. We operate on an ABC block schedule.
Mondays and Tuesdays are the A block classes in which we’re working on skill development of curriculum and techniques in all styles. We will focus on learning and repping our techniques, similarly to how our classes run now. A day classes separated are based on rank for Taekwondo. White, gold, orange are beginners. Camo, green, blue, purple are intermediates. Red, Red/Brown, Brown, Red/Black are advanced. Black Belts are now back in their own class. Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing will continue to be combined rank classes. Working on the development of our techniques on A day will set us up for success for B days.
Wednesday and Thursdays are the B-block classes in which we’re working on skill application in sparring format along with free sparring and weapons training in Taekwondo, situational rolling in Jiu Jitsu, and limited contact style drills in Kickboxing. B days are separated based on program for Taekwondo with you attending the Masters/Pro Club classes.
The best variety to maximize what your program offers is to do one class from the A block and one from the B block for each of your styles of training, with the opportunity of specialty classes from the C block. Please keep in mind if you ever miss an A or B block class, you are more than welcome to make up a time that’s more convenient for you.
An additional benefit for our Master Club & higher members are the C block specialty weapons and fight classes in our new class schedule. Saturdays are the C block classes and are optional classes in which are working on our specialty classes. Our C block classes will never be required for our Masters Club members, but rather an opportunity for more training if you choose to take advantage of. The C block classes include one specialty class for our Black Belt Club members and higher for each of our four weapons- sword, kamas, bo staff, and a combination class of chucks and tricking. It is recommended to find your exclusive choice of competition weapon and only attending that one specialty weapons class if you choose to partake in C block weapons specialty classes.
In addition to these specialty weapons, we are now offering Jackson Fight Team level classes meant exclusively for Masters Club members and higher for competitive level sparring and grappling. The C block Jackson Fight Team classes include one specialty fighting class for Taekwondo, one for Kickboxing, and one combination class for Jiu Jitsu and MMA. You are welcome to join as many fight team classes as within your training styles.
We are super excited for this change and all the new opportunities this opens up for our herd. If you have any questions that need clarification regarding your classes, please see an instructor or the program director.
